Yesterday, the World Bank (WB) released the economic semiannual report of Latin America and the Caribbean, amid the Covid-19 outbreak.
Attached find the full report, with country-level detailed projections for 2020 and forecast for 2021. Although, these figures are being forecasted, ceteris paribus, with data as of a cut off date of the 7th of April, nothing can yet be said of the changes that might be taking place in the business models of every enterprise, large, medium or small. However, for the time being, this is all we have.
Yesterday, we also published the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) point of view. Needless, to say, both multilaterals, coincide that there will be near catastrophic contraction of the world economy. Numbers speak for themselves:
Ecuador, the hardest hit, will decrease 2020 in -6.3%, followed by Argentina with -5.7% (the data excludes Venezuela).
